Valerie

For this piece I started out just filling in the lights and darks of the model, Valerie.  Once getting the basics in, I went back and made sure the proportions were correct and finished off the rest of the shading and highlighting. This was one of the first drawings I did using black and white pastels. It was EXTREMELY messy but was something new and fun to work with. I liked that when using pastels you can go over the white with black or vise versa without the color showing through from the previous mark. I liked using pastels for a figure drawing, i've never done this before and I liked the way it turned out overall.
